"I took my son because I haven't been able to sleep for 3 days, bad congestion and they put me on a video call with a doctor that didn't hear my son lungs and just wanna me to go home with ibuprofen, how I can take my son back home when he's barely able to breathe"

"Reluctantly took my infant here after reading the reviews, expecting the worst. It was 1am and they were at capacity, but we were seen in the waiting room and discharged within an hour. Good experience"

"I agree with Joshua and others. Doctor need to listen, observe - parents usually know their kids. With my (2016) h1n1 developing to bilateral pneumonia, almost dying at Kaiser RWC (a.Ka. Place of fist covid death in San Mateo county) asking to never see the face of the ER doctor ever again, judging on a nose swab not waiting 12 more hrs from the results of the endoscopy (real expensive surgery then lab test for 2 days 50-60k) I put the watch on them and they were coving their tails. Recal Kaiser. At least Stanford makes diagnosis and does not follow up with the same “go home and drink Gatorade” bs - no one dr at Kaiser wants to take the liability and diagnose your kid with the exact illness then treat it.One again, never almost died or bad service with Stanford or dignity health"

"3 stars because the staff was wonderful and we were in and out in a couple of hours during Covid and felt completely safe. The problem was they were wrong about my daughter. We told them she had swallowed a lego but it appeared she had inhaled instead of swallowed it and the lego was in the lungs or headed to the lungs. They did two xrays and examined her and told us she would pass it in her stool and not to worry. But the truth be told she just coughed it out of her lungs today. Had she not she would have ended up with pneumonia and we would have had an even larger hospital bill keeping her safe! All they needed to do was listen to the patient and they could have done an endoscopy and removed it then and there saving her the drama of a potential pneumonia. Shame on"

"I have dislocated my shoulder this morning, this is the first time I have to deal with it in the USA , I had multiple time shoulder dislocations happened in China, compared my experience in ER treatment and services, I have to say Stanford doctor rocks ! Special thank you to my doctor Alan Xi , he was so gentle and able to recover my hanging shoulder in just few seconds, I feel no pain ! It’s amazing how they can do it , I had to deal with very harsh treatment in China, even with anesthesia, multiple doctor had to put their foot into my shoulders put and pop back , Stanford doctor Xi only need to set on my bed and just with few very gentle movements, my shoulder was back ! It’s amazing! Many times ppl told me Chinese doctors are better with these kid of things, but there’s no comparison in terms of professionalism, service, and compassion with Stanford ER doctors and nurses, thanks again all Stanford ER team ! Dr. Jennifer kanapicki , nurse Ashly , Anne and all ! I love you guys, you guys rock!"

"We are here on business and had to visit the emergency room this past Saturday. I am compelled to write this review due to the AMAZING service that we received. From the Security Guard, Registration Staff, to the person that takes your vitals and of course the Nurses and Doctors. I have had my share of ER visits and have never received such impeccable service like we recieved here. We were in and out within 1 1/2 hours and this included Labs and results. The Drs were very thorough and addressed all needs. In my opinion this ER should be the example to follow for all other Calofornia Emergency Rooms. I dont know if the Staff will see this review, but if any of them do, I'd like to thank you for all you do and keep doing what you're doing. It was noticed and appreciated."

"I went in for a mysterious chest pain. Not a lot people were here, and I got helped right away. Within 5 minutes the nurse and triage doctors took my vitals and EKGs. I had my blood taken for some tests and someone sent me to take chest xray on a wheel chair. It was all rather fast. Three doctors and two nurses asked me what was my problem, and I had to describe the symptoms over and over again which was the only thing that was a bit odd. It didnt bother me too much.I was discharged within 3 hrs with all good results. Nothing serious. No diagnose was made for my chest pain and I had no prescription. But since all results were clear, I was not too worried either. Overall very fast and friendly service!"

"Although I don't think anybody likes to go to the ER, when you do I think this is the best hospital, my son got really sick last month and I thought I would be waiting forever for him to be seen but he got to be seen right away and his nurse was really nice to us I don't remember his name but I would never forget how kind and caring he was with my son."

"Being a Notre Dame fan this should be hard to admit lol, but giving credit where credit is due the team at Stanford is top notch. Everyone there is extremely polite and genuine on top of being professional and efficient. I was there for something rather serious and within a couple of hours tests had been run , my pain managed and major decisions were made and treatment was initiated prior to being admitted. Overall the E-room visit really couldnt have been better considering. They made a very miserable, "last place you'd want to be" experience into something very pleasant and less stressful. They did exactly what shouldve been done, how it shouldve been done ."

"We had a terrible experience here.Doctor was offended when we asked about the safety of giving opiods to an 8 year old. Could not be bothered. Zero empathy for the fact there were concerns.Nurse shared confidential (imho) about another patients situation in an effort to shame me for asking why we had been waiting 30 minutes for a discharge."

"God love them, they try, but it is pretty much like trying to get proper medical treatment in a cattle enclosure. I'd avoid it unless you are dying."

"I went to the Stanford emergency dpt for a minor woodworking injury and was in and out incredibly fast. Everyone I interacted with was incredibly polite. They made sure I knew what was going on the entire time and asked for my consent before every action they took. I have never had such a positive ER experience (if one can have such a thing.)"
