River Oaks Emergency Room - A Village Emergency Center

"My go to ER when I need to go to the ER. I have been coming to River Oaks Emergency Room for 12 years now. My first experience was when I had pneumonia with two children at home and no time to sit and wait to be seen at a typical hospital ER where it seems like an eternity before anyone even gets your name let alone your vitals. I’ve visited this ER for several reasons over the years and they’ve always been so great and consistently convenient that I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. Dr. Luna has been a delight during my visits and has made me smile and put me at ease when I had to bring my sweetheart in for his own emergency visit. The only thing that could possibly make this place better would be if they were able to help pets too, but I think that might be a health code violation or something lol."

"Not too many people say they had a good/fun experience at an area ER but I did. More importantly, I was very well cared for by Dr. Alexander - she was thorough, attentive, informative, called in a consult, and even checked on me after I'd gone home and again the next day. It was so professional and very kind of her. Dr. Luna was a treat - she even went to get me something to eat. The facility is no nonsense and they do the necessary tests on site. As badly as I was feeling, I was so pleased with how I was treated by everyone. Their care and concern and personal touch were much appreciated."

"I have been using River Oaks Emergency for several years now and have always had a great experience. The way they handled the Covid testing was even better. Instead of going somewhere and waiting for hours not knowing if you would ever get tested and when you would have the results, I was able to make an appointment at a set time and was able to be tested at that time without a long wait. This was for my kids as well. I told many people about the Covid testing was handled and they all had good experiences as well."

The best part is that they are also extremely prompt in getting all test results whether blood work, CT Scan, etc. immediately! "Dr. Cruz did an amazing job with my daughter, as well as the nurse. The explained things really well took care of us very fast and got us on our way. Having been through a lot of traumatic experiences in hospitals and emergency rooms, this was definitely a serene experience compared to those. The staff was courteous they took care of us quickly and were very kind to my daughter. Hopefully we won’t make seeing them a habit, but I am thankful for a place I feel comfortable going for minor emergencies."

"Went for a PCR test, they offered me two options: 1- result in 12 hours. 2- result in 24 hours. The girl on the front desk explained it well and so did the nurse and made sure that I understand that the 12 or 24 hours start from when the sample gets in the lab and not from when it was collected."

"Being a self pay patient, I called first to get quoted on prices. I was informed that they do not do that over the phone, but to come in and they could quote me. From the front desk, to the interaction with the nurse, then ending with the doctor, I had a wonderful experience. I appreciate that the staff made it a priority that they were communicating efficiently. I could go on, but I believe that me saying that alone goes to show that I recommend River Oaks Emergency Room. This is the first time I've recommended, much less had a pleasant experience at an emergency room/urgent care."

"River Oaks Emergency Room is the place to go if you have minor emergency like I did. I fell and cut my brow and thank goodness I did not go to a hospital and expose myself to the even greater risk of covid in a packed waiting room. Their waiting room was not crowded at all and the wait was minimal, about 30 minutes. They were fast and professional and was stitched up in no time. Great alternative."

"Office staff had not arrived when I had my Covid test which was a scheduled appointment (not a walk-in), so the doctors were trying to do paperwork with the help of a medical tech who had started the just that week. Then, when contacted about payment, I was told the bill was around $200 for me to pay. When I inquired about insurance being billed, Dr. Luna saidthey would charge my insurance around $3,000 for an emergency room visit even though it was just a Covid test that was done in my car. This was what Dr. Luna reported directly to me which seemed like insurance fraud to me. And she was very rude on the phone. I will not be returning. There are other places that are much nicer to go to."

"I must say the circumstances might not have been the best for me to have to come to the clinic. But folks with great attitudes get amazing service I must say Britney and Carly were wonderful. Both of them appreciated my extremely positive attitude and patience to wait for my Covid test. The process was very simple and easy. I called ahead of time called one more time to make sure that I got their process correct then within 20 minutes was directed to the back of their building and after another 10 minutes I was tested. I was quoted an hour and a half and in and out within 45 minutes honestly nothing to complain about. I hope my positive attitude and patience really helped their day I understand that they might have some frustrating circumstances and folks to deal with. I hope this interaction brighten their day as well as the review!"

"I presented at River Oaks on Shepherd Friday night at 8 PM with suspected appendicitis. I had almost no wait time before I was seen by Dr. June Mabry, who was most attentive, ordering bloodwork and a COVID test and CT. This was the only glitch in the evening since the CT was down! Arrangements for a transport were made to another CT location. Appendicitis was confirmed and transfer to a hospital in Conroe was arranged, since there either were no beds or a surgeon in Houston. I received excellent cate at Conroe, had the laparoscopic appendectomy by early afternoon and was discharged by 8 PM Saturday night!I highly recommend River Oaks, South Shepherd for a no wait, excellent emergency medical experience!!"

"This place is well staffed and well equipped. We have received quality care for both my son and myself in the past several years. My son came in a few times in the past for asthma and a bike accident and I came in recently for kidney stone. All occurred at odd hours and it is open 24 hrs. I highly recommend it."

"Yesterday I had an issue with a new medication. I was worried and needed someplace safe and hopefully faster than an average ER. From the moment I walked into the Katy location I was immediately put at ease and attended to within minutes. The staff were sweet, funny and knowledgeable.
