"Was seen rather quickly for my fractured foot referral by my clinic. However was given only a temporary cast and told to look for a specialist, so I have to now spend extra time to get that approved by my primary care. But overall staff was kind."

"Obviously any ER waiting room is not going to be a pleasant experience…but I never could have imagined just how traumatizing this experience was. The employees were fine, some even wonderful, especially for what they have to endure. So many of the people waiting were so ruthless and terrible…i mean, I’ve seen some shit….but being sick while having to deal with the stress of it all for 12 hours literally sent me into a seizure it turns out.I have so much sympathy and empathy for any of the employees who can still work there with how things are right now. But also, the hospital needs to figure out another solution rather than putting sick people outside for a day before being able to see any sort of doctor. Overflow tent or something? So, the 3 star review is more about my experience than it is the hospital staff. It can’t be easy."

"I went to ER because I nearly fainted at home & turned up positive for Covid. I was sped into an isolated room without a call button or a bathroom or a window. After a couple of hours of silence, I had to use a restroom and had to open the door & yell to the guards to help. It took nearly 45 minutes to get help. Once the nurses got to me things got better. I had not eaten since dinner the night before and it was later in the afternoon. A nurse brought me a sandwich & some applesauce. I was finally given a room and not to complain too much but it was Freezing & never got fixed from Friday until Sunday. The nursing staff (Erlinda & Bree during the day & Olanda at night) we’re angels. I know they were extremely busy but they did everything they could to make me as comfortable as possible. The technicians who did the heart, cat scan & carotid artery tests were wonderful. I also appreciate the visits from the doctors who were helpful & very nice. I understand the need to isolate me quickly but being in that awful isolation room was pretty bad. If I’d had a visit from someone from time to time, a room with a bathroom or call button, and if the AC had not been out of control in my room the entire time I was there, it might’ve been 4 stars. I realize the circumstances, but it was stressful. But your staff is professional, very hardworking & caring, everything one could hope for in a caregiver."

"The staff and care was good but it was getting in to see anyone that was horrible. The ER had zero communication and lots of intake people doing what appeared to be nothing while you sit in pain. Triage took 2 hours - what if I was having a heart attack? They didn’t seem to care what was going on. Lots of peopleComing off the street that didn’t belong there and made me feel unsafe with the security staff having zero authority. In any case once I got back there they took good care of me."

"I don’t think this is the norm here therefore I will give a higher score than what I think I would give if it were based on my one experience.I showed up with a lump near my throat and it seemed like it was bacterial. I thought it would take a while but it took me 11 hours to even finally be taken to the back for the doctors evaluation and 14 before I finally left with a medication. At the six hour mark One of the great registration agents even noticed and started to look into what is happening as I did the triage vital taking and went in an hour later for a ct scan of my head. This was all due to miscommunication it seems between a coordinator who handled those waiting and one inside or something. I never even left or got anything to eat or drink the whole time so I don’t miss out on them calling me. It wasn’t until I intercepted the PA who was so shocked and said “wait.. why are you still here” and she was able to go in and get me in there because it seems that no one administrative is taken anywhere near seriously even when told there has been someone out waiting for 10+ hours. In in the back the nurses or assistants or whatever are constantly gossiping about each other, asking what others would like for boba cafe and restaurant orders they’re making for the whole office, and flirting about their shifts and acting like they are way to important to respond to any patients in discomfort or are confused or want to know what’s happening. I’ve even heard the nurse coordinator be rude and sarcastic with this other patient who was obviously in a lot of pain asking for two blankets instead of one saying “is there anything else you want? I’m obviously only here to get you your stupid blankets” before jumping back on the computer huffing and pufffing while she chatted.Worst experience ever. I only came to the ER because I was in an unbelievable amount of pain and in the past I have gotten results in other ERs and I don’t mind waiting because was gonna leave with solutions. This experience was so horrible in and of itself I left there insulted and feeling that I would’ve been better off visiting anywhere else but there."

"The staff were kind once the ball got rolling but the communication was severely lacking . Sometimes people’s patience can be fortified by telling them why they’re sitting/sleeping in a lobby for over 4 hrs or sitting in a curtained room for 1 hr when the nurse said she’d be right back to assist you with something. I understand hospitals are busy, but communication to patients, something that takes 5 seconds, should NEVER be sacrificed. If I had a choice I would not return to this hospital but an emergency is an emergency. You never know."

"It was a very nice experience! I was treated with kindness and respect. The Doctor did all the exams she needed to find what was happening instead of giving me a pain killer and sending me home. The doctor gave me a diagnosis and the treatment to follow. She also explained me next steps and gave me the info of a specialist to visit!I definitely recommend this hospital!"

"This ER was dirty, smells bad, privacy was not good, you can listen every patient personal questions and answers, I have to wait for ever, 8 long hours, and never received a room, people complaining because of long waiting, and not only that, it got worse because they didn’t want so many people inside at Waiting room, we were outside under 94 degrees of temperature, they never offer water or anything else, oh but later there was a nurse who finish her shift and got injure with pain at calf and she was shouting and yelling then she got first in the list to get inside and they were assisting her right away just because she works there, I don’t think it was fair because I was in so much pain and not because I was not screaming it doesn’t said I was ok, I keep asking the nurses to get something for my pain but they never listen to me or one said you have to wait like every body else…. any way I understand there was not enough people to work, that’s why I’m complaining because those owners or associates need to check was going on, but they don’t care as long as they get money and become rich and rich, I’m very sure I not the first person who complains but this system of Hollywood presbiterian hospital is wrong wrong wrong …."

"This hospital was the best and so was the staff. I came here recently to deliver my baby and I was admitted quickly and got a bed. The medical staff went above and beyond and helped me with the entire labor and delivery process. I had to really thank dr. Alfred Hong and nurse Hyunsun and their whole team for making sure they answered all my questions and assisted me in every way possible. They truly made my experience here one to remember for a long time. I loved that they not only tended to me but to all the needs of my baby. Will certainly keep this hospital in mind for future reference. You have one satisfied mom and baby ❤️"

"To my surprise the place(Emergency room) was not overcrowded, about 7 people at 11:00 AM , security at the door was a bit loud but I believe it is a necessity to be a little direct and loud when dealing with majority of lunatics and zombies of Hollywood. YKWIM? I loved the sitting loveseats being separated from each other by social distancing , which made me feel safe . The service at the registration window was of 5 star hospital with a courtesy and somewhat caring of personnel. The best part was the speed of doctors who attended me within an hour and I was out of their care within 1:30 minutes. For me this experience was a second to the best (Kaiser) out of around 8 previous ones I was admitted at the different locations in Southern California."

"My last visit to the ED was chaotic. People were yelling and cursing. Their was one guy who was the LOUDEST barfer. The nurses were so busy. I felt for them. The doctor was very curt and came across as rude. I wasn't able to get a clear answer to what ailed me or given time to ask questions. I usually have positive experiences but last night was one of my worst. 🥺"

"I went into this hospital at 3:30AM, and came out about 8 hours later for stomach issues (vomiting blood). The medical staff were really incredible and I have nothing but great things to say for Dr. Atanelov, and the two nurses that treated me or drew my blood, Sandra and Karen. Unfortunately this hospital is severely understaffed and really just outdated. There was only one doctor available throughout the entire visit- as each security guard and staff member made sure we knew anytime we asked a question. There just aren't enough facilities for the amount of people this ER sees on a daily basis. There is only one bathroom for every patient waiting and you need to get the security guard to open it. This was pretty stressful for me as I was having digestive issues and literally didn't make it to the bathroom one of the times I had to wait. They make you place your urine sample out in the open for everyone to view, and the triage nurse didn't help provide any info as to my condition or what to expect moving forward. I'm glad my husband was with me because there were also quite a few curious cases wandering around- a patient talking to himself and clearly hallucinating. Once I was taken back to meet with the doctor, there was very little privacy as you're put in a room with other patients only separated by curtains or room dividers. I had to sit there and describe my personal medical issues with others listening in.My trip wrapped up when I was moved to my own bed, still only separated by a curtain. One of the patients was absolutely losing her mind and harassing patients and staff. I'm not an expert, but when a patient is cursing every other word and using racial slurs at other patients, I feel like there are better solutions than just leaving that person in the hallway continually screaming as they fight off the sedative. Karen and Dr. Atanelov helped make the experience not totally awful by providing me with considerate and kind care, and were very informative when we asked questions."

"When arriving at the hospital, I was sick to the point I couldn’t focus, dazed, and my voice too weak to give out much sound but squeaks of air. My mom helped me into to the ER waiting room and while on the way there a doctor was kind enough to take a minute of his time to check out my illness. This felt very reassuring to me that I had come to the right place to be taken care of.The waiting room is never fun and I am experienced with the wait game, it can take hours to wait or feels like you’ve been forgotten. It’s not easy to be patient in a waiting room especially when your very sick and unable to sit up. I think it was about an hour or half an hour till I was brought in and checked over by a couple doctors. Though I had so much pain in my throat they were very delicate with me and cared greatly about my illness and very thorough with filling out my complaints of suffering. I absolutely appreciated that they allowed my mom to be by my side throughout this. After that check up, we were taken into the ER for some more tests. Everyone was so so so nice. I enjoyed every nurse and doctor who came to check on me. Wait in between seeing them did seem forever but again understand that there are other patients, and your own tests do take time. I get the frustration of being a patient or a relative of a patient who wants to go home but to make sure you are healthy as can be you gotta make sure it’s done right. These doctors are the best in this hospital and have genuine care and respect for their patients. We stayed pretty late and I have respect for these night doctors and nurses who worked so hard whilst I was there. They gave me a couple shots and about instantly I felt better and was finally able to rest easy in my own bed.If I ever get sick like that again I hope to come and see them again for their kind treatment. I genuinely felt cared for and I was very relaxed. I will say I got a little grumpy in the end as it was very late and I felt like I was a starving beggar, but regardless they were very kind and I gave that kindness with patiencein return. Positive energy everywhere."
